PROJECTS FOR THE RECREATION OF LAKE KARLA

The projects implemented have resulted in

  • effective anti-flooding protection of the broader region, as well as water management that requires particular care and diligence during the winter and autumn period through the operation of anti-flooding pumping stations at the Petra and Kanalia confluence, the sluices and, in particular, the sluice of the outlet of channel 1T at the Karla tunnel leading to the Pagasetic Gulf
  • unhindered, continuous supply of Lake Karla with water during the autumn and winter period both from winter and spring runoffs from the river Pineios and from the surface water of the broader region after intense, continuous precipitation.
